Despite the tourist hordes, it is possible to eat exceptionally well on the Amalfi Coast. The region is especially famous for its seafood, which includes Cetara's world-famous anchovies. In the mountains, focus on earthy, turf dishes. Steer clear of restaurants with hawkers, encyclopaedic menus and gimmicky signs. Don't eschew the sfogliatelle, layered flaky pastries originally from Conca dei Marini.
