Explore Etruscan necropolises and walk along mysterious vie cave (sunken roads) at the Parco Archeologico 'Città del Tufo' before visiting the duomo (cathedral) and museum in Sovana and then heading to Pitigliano to wander centuries-old streets, visit an ancient Jewish enclave and dine in one of the town's excellent restaurants.

Two Days

Your destination today is the Parco Regionale della Maremma, where you can walk, cycle or canoe through wild scenery and have a beach break at Marina di Alberese. At the end of the day, relax over a bottle of Morellino di Scansano at the welcoming agriturismo on the Terenzi wine estate.

Three Days

Cruise north to Massa Marittima to admire its handsome piazzas and the Cattedrale di San Cerbone, eating lunch at one of its three Slow Food–acknowledged restaurants.
