The Etna Wine Train is a handy way to explore Etna's wineries without a car. The train runs on selected dates from May to October, leaving Riposto train station at 9.15am and arriving in Randazzo at 10.24am. From here, a 'Wine Bus' service continues to a couple of wineries and towns on Etna's northern slopes. The tour includes wine tastings.
Lunch is optional and train tickets can be purchased online. Note that the Wine Train also stops at Piedimonte Etneo station en route to Randazzo; see the website for details.
