Ristorante La Mandragola

Top choice tuscan in San Gimignano

Nestled beneath the crumbling walls of the rocca, La Mandragola (The Mandrake) is deservedly popular –– book ahead, especially if you're keen to dine in the gorgeous courtyard. It's not exactly tourist-free, but the welcome is genuine and the food is delicious, especially the handmade pasta dishes, which feature unusual sauces and stuffings. The set menus (€15 to €25) offer excellent value.
