Babette

Italian in Tridente, Trevi & the Quirinale

Our Review

Babette's run by two sisters who used to produce a fashion magazine, hence the effortlessly chic interior of exposed brick walls and vintage painted signs. Cuisine is a feast of Italian dishes with a creative French twist: tortiglioni with courgette, saffron and pistachio pesto, for example, followed by rabbit loin in juniper sauce, then torta Babette (a light-as-air lemon cheesecake).

Romans flock here at weekends for Babette's good-value lunch buffet (€28), which includes water, bread, dessert and coffee.
