Rosati

Cafe in Tridente, Trevi & the Quirinale

Overlooking the vast disc of Piazza del Popolo, this historic 1922 cafe was once the hangout of the left-wing chattering classes. Authors Italo Calvino and Alberto Moravia drank here while their right-wing counterparts went to the Canova across the square. Today tourists are the main clientele, but the views are as good as ever.

Drinking standing up at the bar will get you a reasonably priced coffee, but you'll pay a premium for a seat.
