Just 1 hour drive from Rome, you will be escorted on a first class Mercedes van over to an amazing region to explore and see what the WWII meant for many of our Veteran brothers who fought for us and mainly for Italy. We will explore the largest WWII museum in the World and on to visit an amazing medieval town (Sermoneta) built on a hill, from where the Germans used to shoot the allies approaching Rome from Anzio with long distance canons. We will then opt for a nice local lunch and will eventually visit the American War Cemetery in Anzio itself. A 9 hour immersion in our recent past. Come and enjoy your day with us.
You will be picked up in Rome at your accommodation at 08.00 or from the airport on arrival. This is a private tour so you will not be sharing it with anybodyelse but only with your private group. You will be all day with your private English Speaking driver who will illustrate to you all the details and the history of the sites you will be seeing during this beautiful tour. At 09.00 am you will reach the area of Latina where you will start a 2 hour visit to the largest WWII museum of the world, Here you can decide to hire a guide on site for escorting you through the museum but you will have to let us know at the moment of the booking. Done with the museum, you will reach an amazing Medieval town called Sermoneta where you will have about 45 minutes to stroll around and taste its beauty. At about 12.15ish it will be time for lunch and your driver will suggest you some amazing trattorias where to sample the delicatessen of the region. After lunch you will drive towards the coast where you will be visiting the American War Cemetery of Anzio, burrial ground of our American brothers thanks to whom we now have a wonderful democracy in our beautiful Italy. You will leave the cemetery by 04.00 pm in order to be back at your hotel at 05.00 pm
