Getting There & Away

The main international gateway to the region are Rome's two airports: Leonardo da Vinci, better known as Fiumicino, and Ciampino.

Long-distance trains also serve Rome, running to Stazione Termini from a number of European destinations, as well as cities across Italy.

About 80km northwest of Rome, Civitavecchia is a major port with year round ferry connections to Sardinia, Sicily and destinations across the Mediterranean. Check for route details, prices, and to book.

From Rome's Termini station, half-hourly trains serve Civitavecchia (€5 to €16, 45 minutes to 1½ hours) with fewer services on Sundays. Civitavecchia’s station is about 700m from the port.
