Getting There & Away

Lake Como is the first stop of many visitors to northern Italy, and is well connected by rail service to Milan – both from Como on the southwest corner and Lecco on the southeast corner. If travelling by car, take the A8 and A9 from Milan to Como (one hour, 52km), where you can connect with the SS340 which follows the lake's western shore. For east-side destinations, take the SS36 from Milan to Lecco (one hour, 56km). The SS36 continues up the east side of the lake.
