Some of Friuli's finest eating experiences are to be had in Il Collio, from hearty farm restaurants to the Michelin-starred La Subida. The cuisine is a mix of Italian and Slovenian influences, including goulashes and stewed sausages alongside pasta and polenta with game and veal. Of particular note is the region's world-famous goose salami, d'Osvaldo proscuitto, cherry strudel and Montasio cheese.
