A perfect place to let your palate limber up before visiting individual wineries, this enoteca stocks more than 1000 wines and offers 100 for tasting, including a huge array of Chianti Classico, IGTs and other Tuscan favourites. Leave your credit-card as a guarantee or buy a non-refundable prepaid wine card (€5 to €100) to test your tipples of choice.
Those not sure what they should taste can opt for a 'Greve by Wine' (€6.80), 'Tuscan Denominations' (€7.15) or 'Intense Aromas' (€11) tasting of of five wines (25ml per wine). Tasting boards of local cheeses and cured meats (€8 to €29), panini (€6 to €12) and crostini (€5) are available, too. Free guided tours of the enoteca and nearby Museum of Wine are held at 11am and 4pm daily; these are in both Italian and English.
The enoteca also sells bottles to take away or ship home. To get here, head down a staircase opposite the entrance of the Coop supermarket on the main road through Greve.
