Gela in detail

Flights & getting there

From Piazza Stazione, in front of the train station, SAL runs buses to Licata (45 minutes) and Agrigento (1¾ to 2¼ hours). There are also buses to Syracuse and Caltanissetta.

Gela is well connected by road: the SS115 leads westwards to Agrigento and east to Ragusa and Modica, while the SS117bis connects with Caltagirone (via the SS417) and Piazza Armerina.

Arriving in town, follow the signs for the city centre and museum, which is at the eastern end of Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the town's principal east–west street.
