All’Antico Ristoro di’ Cambi

in Oltrarno

Founded as a wine shop in 1950, this Oltrarno institution sticks closely to the traditional, with its long list of fine Tuscan wines and dried meats hanging from beautiful red-brick-vaulted ceilings. This is one of the best places in town to try both traditional Roman deep-fried artichokes and Florence's iconic T-bone steak (€45 per kilogram).

Meat aficionados will also enjoy the succulent tagliata di cinta senese (Senese pork steak) and ossobuco all fiorentina (veal shank in a tomato and wine sauce).
