Save your time reaching Rome by the high-speed train and visit the highlights of Rome by hop-on/ hop off double-decker bus. Arrived at the Colosseum meet our monolingual guide. You will have an overview of Rome’s history and art before entering the Colosseum (skip the line entrance), the famous amphitheater that, with its gladiators, was Rome’s ancient center of public entertainment. The tour will continue with the visit of the Roman Forum, the Temple of Julius Caesar and the Curia Julia, the still-intact Senate House, before arriving to the Palatine Hills.

Once arrived in Rome, you can see the highlights of Rome at your own pace as you move into the city to reach the meeting point. You’ll have a hop-on/hop-off all-day pass to get on a comfortable double-decker bus: at Rome Termini Station, go to the closer “hop on - hop off” stop to reach the Colosseum (buses depart every 15 min approximately), and once there, your guide will give you a complete history lesson about the site, including the gladiatorial clashes, wild-animal fights and mock-naval battles that were once staged here. Once you’re inside, you’ll wander remnants of the seating arcades that once fit 50,000 spectators. The Roman Forum next: you’ll explore the onetime cultural, economic, and political center of ancient Rome. You’ll walk along the Via Sacra, tracing the paths of ancient military processions and political rallies. You’ll also see important sites like the Temple of Julius Caesar (where the emperor’s body was ceremonially burned), and the Curia Julia—the still-intact Senate House where Cicero and Mark Antony once orated. Palatine Hill: according to legend, the twins Romulus and Remus first decided to begin building the city of Rome atop this impressive hill, you’ll understand why as you walk among its ruined emperors’ palaces and still-blooming botanical gardens. At the end, hop again on the bus to get back to Termini Station. Board again your high-speed train and relax while reaching Florence after your amazing journey through the History of Rome. IMPORTANT NOTES: - Extra closure may also occur without notice. Be aware that even with Skip-the-Line entrance, lines can still occur due to Security checks. Please be aware that during winter season the tour will not include hop on - hop off bus.
