This 4 hour guided hike will allow you to explore a scenic mountainside path winding through characteristic villages. An excursion that will allow you to enjoy also a nice cruise on the lake by public boat.
A professional guide will meet you in Como in time to take the public boat which will bring you to the beautiful village of Torno. From here you shall take the steps which shall lead you to the beginning of the path.During the uphill hike you shall see the nice hamlet of Piazzaga with its crotto and chapel and then reach the Massi Avelli, erratic rocks which have represented an interesting archeological mystery in the past, which has not been solved yet…You shall then reach Monte Piatto from where a short walk shall enable you to reach the Pietra Pendula and enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake.Here we will stop to re-fuel enjoying the view over the lake from the church Santa Elisabetta and taking photos of the curious “Pietra Pendula”, a huge boulder suspended on the apex of a limestone rock.Your guide shall be happy to offer you a nice picnic based on local products such as salame, local cheeses, some vegetables, bread and something sweet at the end.After the nice, relaxing stop you shall start your descent to Torno along a well defined mule track.Your tour shall end in Torno, where you shall be left free to stay and enjoy some lunch or simply take the public boat back to Como or to your accommodation.The total duration of the tour is 6 hours, including the cruise and the picnic time. The net hiking time shall be approximately 4 hours.
