Calabria in detail

Flights & getting there

Reggio Calabria, the region's largest city (although not its capital) is the usual point of entry for visitors, either by ferry from Messina in Sicily, or flights from Milan and Rome to Reggio Calabria Airport. There are also direct Trenitalia services to Rome (€64, 7½ hours) and Naples (€40, five hours). The A2 Autostradale (motorway) follows roughly the same course, for those driving themselves.
