Enjoy a day exploring the beauties that the  Umbria region has to offer, including also a stop in the countryside of  Tuscany. In this full day with a private English speaking driver you’ll be able to visit  Assisi and  Cortona.Included a very good Wine Tasting.  Upgradable with local private licensed guide in Assisi and Cortona for an additional fee.  Pick up and drop off will be at the port of Civitavecchia, right outside the ship. The tour will start with pick up from the port of Civitavecchia. An English speaking driver with a private minivan will be waiting for you right outside the ship, holding a sign with your name on to be easily recognized. He will be with you during the entire day and since the tour is private you’ll be able to customize the itinerary.The stops you’ll be able to do during your tour will be to visit Assisi, and Cortona. If you wish, you have the option to include a local private licensed guide in Assisi and Cortona for an additional fee (availables in English, Spanish or Portuguese).Assisi:It was the birthplace of St. Francis, who founded the Franciscan religious order in the town in 1208, and St. Clare, the founder of the Poor Sisters. Nowadays Assisi is a popular destination not only for religious tours, but also for the history that the city has witnessed during the centuries. The Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi is the most important site to visit while in town.Wine Tasting included.Cortona:Cortona is a very small medieval town located in the countryside of Tuscany. The original town is dated to an era that precedes the Etruscan conquest, but the appearance that the city has nowadays was gained several centuries later. The town, located hillside, offers a wonderful view of the surrounding areas, including a good view of Lake Trasimeno.At the end of the tour the driver will take you back to the port of Civitavecchia, leaving you outside your ship. The tour will be a total of 9 hours from pick up to drop off. Suggested pick up is at 7:30 am.
