A travertine stone workshop is a unique and child friendly place to visit. Travertine was used extensively in Italy and you can find many buildings made of it. You will meet your guide at your arrival; the guide is also the quarry-owner, so he can explain all the secrets of the quarry.The first step is an introduction in the quarry with the explanation of basic sculpting techniques; in the second step you'll get the first guided approach with the chisel and other sculpture tools; the third step is a guided "arco a secco" construction.You will learn how to build a door arch like Romans in the old Empire, using the travertine stones provided. At the end of your tour and workshop, you will have the opportunity to buy artistic constructions or brick bags to bring home for your children and you.
