This is an exclusive opportunity to visit the Sistine Chapel outside of normal opening hours. There may be other small group also inside the chapel but on quieter days you may almost have the chapel to yourself. So, skip-the-lines and join your guide to view Michelangelo’s magnificent frescoed ceiling and his other artworks in a more tranquil and leisurely fashion. Upon leaving the chapel you may then, at your leisure, explore the Museums other rooms and galleries, for example Raphael’s Rooms
5Your tour starts at 8 am near the entrance to the Vatican Museums where, an hour before the official opening time you will meet with your very knowledgeable tour guide. You will make immediately for the Sistine Chapel via the deserted Vatican Museum hallways. Your guide will tell you about Michelangelo’s amazing ceiling frescoes and other masterpieces so that you get to really appreciate this wonderful chapel. After spending time in the chapel you return to the Vatican Museums to see some of the highlights of the museums marvellous art collection. There will be stops at the Pinecone Courtyard and Octagonal Courtyard where you will learn something about the antique statues that are displayed there; the mysterious composition the mysterious composition of the Greek Statues of Laocoon, the Apollo Belvedere and the impressive Belvedere Torso.
