The entire town was buried, and more than 20,000 residents were killed. Today, Pompeii is an outdoor museum and one of the few sites where an ancient city was so well preserved by volcanic ash. You’ll have the unique opportunity of seeing how its residents lived 2,000 years ago.Here you will spend the duration of the morning, before continuing on to the picturesque coastal village of Sorrento for some sightseeing and lunch. The Amalfi Coast lies in the southwestern region of Campania, and is best known for its iconic medieval fishing villages, hills overlooking the Mediterranean.
