Basilica di San Sebastiano

Ionian Coast

The Basilica di San Sebastiano is one of Acireale's finest baroque buildings. Guarded by statues of Old Testament characters, the basilica lifts the spirit with its luminous facade, whimsically lined with putti (cherubs). Inside, splendid frescoes recount episodes from the life of St Sebastian. When the weather is fair, visitors can climb the bell tower (€2).
