Spread across the rocky, volcanic plateau that gives the Golan Heights their name, the sparsely populated Central Golan is home to cattle ranches, vineyards, wineries, a boutique chocolate factory, farms where you can pick your own berries and fruits, and the twin volcanoes of Avital and Bental, which tower over the Syrian town of Quneitra and the UN-monitored disengagement zone. The area is bounded by Katzrin to the south, Odem to the north and, to the east, the 1974 disengagement line.
