Air

Waterford Airport (www.flywaterford.com), 9km south of the city centre, has no passenger services, but there are hopes for their revival – check the website for updates.

Boat

If you're driving or cycling between Wexford and Waterford along the coast, the Passage East Ferry from Ballyhack to Passage East across the River Suir saves a long detour via New Ross. The crossing takes five minutes, with several departures per hour.

There are frequent Bus Éireann (www.buseireann.ie) services to:

Suirway (www.suirway.com) services to Dunmore East (€4, 30 minutes, every 90 minutes) depart from the bus stop on Merchants Quay, outside the main Waterford Bus Station.

Train

Waterford's Plunkett train station is across the river from the city centre. Direct trains:
