Flights & getting there
You'll want to be in a car to reach the Inishowen Peninsula; there are a few sporadic bus services and you can get to Magilligan's Point in County Londonderry from Greencastle by ferry, but in the main, you'll need to be driving.
There are two approaches: via Buncrana on the west side of the peninsula to Clonmany, Malin or Culdaff and Malin Head; or immediately east along the lovely southern shore following the R238 to Moville, Greencastle and Inishowen Head before making a route north to Malin Head. You can of course go one way and return by the other.
North West Busways runs three buses daily Monday to Friday and one bus on Saturday between Moville and Letterkenny via Culdaff, Carndonagh, Ballyliffin, Clonmany and Buncrana.
Local Link bus 955 runs twice daily to from Buncrana to Malin Head, via Clonmany, Ballyliffin, Doagh Famine Village, Carndonagh and Malin Town.
