My wife and I will be in Kells for a week, and then will be met by a friend in Dublin and will rent a car and travel for about 12 days in late June and July. We like to hike, and much prefer small towns and villages to cities. We prefer quality to quantity and are happy seeing fewer places and spending more time in each place that we visit. I would appreciate any itinerary suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Hey! So, Ireland is my top dream three destinations. I love Irish culture, whiskey, the accents, the men, etc. I am American- born in NY, currently live in Chicago. I’m Indian- parents are from India. I don’t know if that’s going to be an issue in Ireland?
So I am studying abroad in Amsterdam, and I booked a trip to Ireland prior. Now, I realized I booked my trip too short.
I will be landing July 2 (in the morning) into Dublin, and leaving July 8th (11 AM from Dublin). I want to see beautiful…

I'm visiting Dublin in January. I'm interested to know of best gay venues in Dublin please? Also is Temple Bar a good neighbourhood to stay in? Can anyone recommend gay friendly accommodation in Dublin please?
Thanks for your suggestions.
Hi, I am sure that this has been discussed, but the search function on thorn tree (at least on my computer) has not worked for about a week, so please bear with me. I am planning to rent a car in Dublin or at the airport from around June 28 to July 11. I would like some advice on the following:
1. I plan on paying with my chase sapphire preferred visa. I have downloaded the benefits guide, which states that I am covered for collision insurance overseas and should decline the loss and damage…
I'm wondering if anyone has any feedback or advice for my tentative 8 day drive? I also have five days in Dublin (I can't add or subtract days. The Dublin section is set in stone / out of my hands) before starting this road trip. Estimated direct driving times are in ( ):
DAY 1: Dublin -- > Glendalough (1 hour ) -- > Kilkenny (1.5 hours)
Day 2: Kilkenny -- > Cork (2 hours)
Day 3: Cork --> Mizen Head & Three Castle Head (2 hours) --> Killarney (2 hours)
Day 4: Killarney --> Ring…
I will be in Killarney in mid June. I am interested in traveling to Dingle, staying at a hostel on Inch Beach one night, and the town of Dingle the next. I am struggling to find public transportation options. Is there a bus service from Killarney to Dingle? And what is the most cost effective and relatively efficient way to get from Dingle to Inch Beach? Thanks.
What are the options for a day trip from Dublin or two days in Wickow without a car and NOT on a structured tour? What public transportation would take you to a good area for walking and exploring the countryside? OR--does anyone know of a "tour" that gives you a lot of time on your own to walk around and mainly provides the transportation from Dublin and back? If I have to I'd take a regular tour, but I'm not a "tour person." I like to be on my own as much as possible. Thanks!
Hi everyone! I will be moving to Cork city to study at UCC this fall. It is my first time in Ireland, and I am hoping the move and transition will be as smooth as possible.
I was hoping to get some tips about everyday life things: what to wear(must-haves like sweaters, styles, etc), how to best travel around, things NOT to do, great places to eat, common phrases, general differences to expect, even if someone happens to know about a cheap room for rent near the college, etc. Just anything…
