The House of Waterford Crystal comprises of a manufacturing facility, visitor centre and retail outlet. Visitors can enjoy all aspects of the manufacturing process through the factory tour and learn about both historical and contemporary production techniques through direct interaction with the craftsmen and audiovisual materials. The manufacturing facility contains a brand new continuous melt tank furnace that uses leading edge technology to deliver molten crystal, for skilled master blowers to hand-shape and hand-blow into Waterford Crystal’s range of premium products. The retail centre represents the largest display of Waterford Crystal in the world.

You will be warmly welcomed by your host Richenda and Michael into their historic home and enjoy a welcome cup of coffee or tea with biscuits or scones in their gorgeous living room. Next, enter Richenda’s kitchen where you will learn to learn to cook an authentic Irish meal with Richenda’s creative touches from recipes that have been passed down through generations of her family. Your cooking demo will involve watching your host prepare 4-5 dishes from scratch. You will watch her prepare an Irish stew the traditional way, brown soda bread (her mother’s recipe) and a soup, or dessert. Your meal might also include a few dishes that Richenda may have prepared in advance. Please note that this is a demonstration, not a hands-on cooking class, and will last about two and a half hours. Enjoy learning about Richenda's secret tips and techniques involved in Irish cooking before you sit down at the table to share the meal together over delightful conversation!

Meet your hosts Richenda and Michael at their gorgeous home built in the 18th century. Sit down around a cozy fire and enjoy a cup of tea and scones as you hear about the delightful history of their home which has been in the family for generations. Weather permitting, Richenda and Michael will take you on a quick tour of the family’s vegetable garden and apple orchard where you might pick a few herbs for your meal. Back at the dining table, enjoy Richenda’s creations - either a three-course meal or a creative Irish tasting menu. Possible dishes are spring pea and mint or beetroot and coconut soup, a main course, such as a beef and Guinness stew with a side of glazed parsnips and parsnips or stuffed chicken with mushrooms and spiced vegetables, all served with traditional Irish bread. Your meal will conclude with a dessert of a seasonal Irish tart (made from rhubarb or apples from the garden), a rich chocolate rum torte or a homemade lemon curd meringue roulade.

Meet your host Marie at her beautiful old cottage in the countryside where you will join her for a hands-on cooking lesson in her sunny, family-style kitchen. Learn to cook a creative Irish meal that incorporates seaweed into both sweet and savory dishes! Your interactive seaweed cooking class will last about an hour and a half and you will be making three delicious dishes from scratch. You will learn to make a bread, a soup (for example Mulligatawny soup with kelp) and a dessert like sticky date and walnut pudding with seaweed. Enjoy learning about how you can best use seaweed in your cooking from this passionate local before you sit down at the table to share the meal you helped prepare over a delightful conversation.
