Getting There & Away
Mashhad savaris (IR80,000, 1½ hours) and buses (IR40,000, two hours) leave when full from Neishabur’s main bus terminal, on the northern bypass 2km northeast of Khayyam Sq.
The train station is about 1km south of Naqsh-e Jahan (Imam) Sq. Coming by train from Tehran you’ll arrive in Neishabur bright and early, allowing plenty of time for sightseeing if you want to continue to Mashhad the same day. Trains to Mashhad (IR60,000 to IR150,000) depart at 7.30am, 11.50am, 1pm (a cheap, local service), 5.30pm and 6.30pm, and typically take around 90 minutes.
Savaris from Falakeh Baghrud head for Sabzevar (IR100,000, 1½ hours), passing Zafaraniyeh en route.
