Makassar offers great Chinese (especially along Jl Lombok) as well as local specialities such as coto Makassar (a hearty, well-seasoned soup made from beef innards); mie titi (also called mie kering; crispy noodles with gravy, chicken and shrimp); and pisang epe (grilled flattened bananas covered with cane syrup and/or chocolate), sold at small nighttime stalls along Pantai Losari.
