Find laid-back travellers' cafes by wandering the gang and looking for crowds. For quick snacks and 4am beers, 24-hour Circle K stores are everywhere.
Beware of big-box restaurants on Jl Sunset. Heavily promoted, they suffer from traffic noise and are aimed at tourists who follow the bus.
Tuban has oodles of chains and fast-food joints. The beachfront hotels all have restaurants or cafes, which are often good for nonguests to enjoy a snack or a sunset drink.
The south end of Jl Raya Kuta near the airport road is lined with good local warungs and cafes. Browse around and pick a favourite.
Beach vendors are pretty much limited to drinks. Otherwise you'll find mostly surfer fare (pizzas, burgers, Indo classics) at myriad spots along the narrow streets.
Along Jl Legian
The eating choices along Jl Legian seem endless; worthy choices not so much.
Along the streets of Legian, the ho-hum greatly outnumber the good, so browse before choosing.
On the Beach
Various restaurants and cafes face the water along Jl Pantai Arjuna, and there are more along Jl Padma Utara. All are good come sunset.
