Like all of Nusa Tenggara, the Alor Archipelago takes its best food from the surrounding ocean. But if you're vegetarian, or don't like fish, you'll find plenty of local veggies in the standard diet, as well as meat such as pork, reflecting the Christian majority here. Jagung titi dan kenari (crushed corn and almonds) and kue rambut ('hair' cake) are two typical Alor dishes to seek out.
