Day 1:24 h to Kawah Ijen is starting from Bali South, through North, by Ubud, Bedugul, Munduk, Seririt, Pemuteran and Gilimanuk, the port on the east of Bali, where ferries leave for Java. To cross the channel takes about 1 hour. Arriving at Banyuwangi (Java port). For safety reasons, you cannot stay inside the car during ferry journey. You can let your bags inside the car, the driver will care about.At Java, the time is 1 hour less than Bali (if it's 10.00pm at Bali it's 9.00pm at Java).After 2 hours driving through the forest and coffee plantations, we arrive at the base camp of Kawah Ijen, (Paltuding) at 1900m above sea level. During all the transfer from south Bali to base camp, try to sleep or to rest.Day 2At 1 am, our professional guide (1 of the 5 guides from Indotravelteam) will lead you to the top of the crater Kawah Ijen volcano. 1h30 of ascent, with the first hour quite intense and then, 30 minutes very easy to the top of the rim.Then you will descend into the crater of the volcano, (only if weather and smoke conditions are favorable) discover the nature's miracle - blue flames (until 5am), and the sunrise on the biggest acid lake in the world, an unforgettable moment…With a respirator that protects you from sulfuric vapors, you are at the heart of the crater which is a unique sensation! So, you are in the crater which is also a "Sulfur mine" where the workers are exploiting the sulfur. You will be the witness of the enormous courage of those men (miners and carriers) who live by the extraction of this sulfur (used for pharmacology and cosmetology).After these magic moments, we are back to the base camp, and then, after about 20 minutes of the road, we will enjoy a local breakfast (all you can eat) in a Javanese family.Then we go back to Bali by ferry (to cross the channel takes about 1 hour). From Gilimanuk (Bali) we arrive at our starting point in Seminyak after about 4 hours of drive, and that will be the end of our adventure.
