A number of caves on the hillside above the main road were part of the old monastery complex – a 200m walk starting up the steps opposite the Vijay Kumar shop.

Kunzum Top serves tasty Tibetan, Spitian, Indian and Continental dishes in its sunny garden and cosy interior, and has good coffee.
The library has a collection of books on Buddhism, the local region and Tibet, mostly in English.
