Tarsar Marsar trek in Kashmir. Trekking in Kashmir is altogether different from trekking anywhere else in our country. Where else you get an opportunity to trek where you will be able to see such tremendous high lakes. On this trek, you will get the chance to camp alongside two such excellent lakes, Tarsar and Sundarsar. You additionally get the opportunity to trek to Marsar, which stand amongst the most difficult lakes in Kashmir.
Day 01: Arrive Srinagar Airport After arriving at Srinagar Airport, It will take you 2 hrs drive to Aru Valley Our base camp for the Tarsar-Marsar trek which is another 12kms before Pahalgam, overnight stay in Huts or TentsDay 02: Aru To Lidderwat (9.5km, 6 Hours)After breakfast start trek with a consistent move for 2 to 3 hours through a superb pine woodlands trail. This is an uphill climb but an easy and pleasant one. We trek along the Lidder River which connects to the village uphill. we can camp along the riverside to rest for the night. Day 03: Lidderwat ToShekiwas (5.6km 5 Hours)After breakfast we would have a lot of climbing up to do wherein we will cover a distance of approximately 6-7 kms and it will take roughly 5 hours. We will start our trek alongside the Lidder River that will take us to the pine forest. There will also be the thrill of river crossing on this day. we will make a short stop at the Gujjar huts and enjoy some tea and snacks before continuing on the trek. We will be camping at Shekiwas for the night which is a verdant meadow land. Rest here for the night. Day 04: Shekiwas To Tarsar (5km 4 Hours)Today the trail will take us through lush grasslands before reaching Sumbal; from here the path will lead us to a ridge on a stream that will further take us to Tarsar. After couple of hrs a spectacular conical hill top that will offer breath- taking views of almond shaped Tarsar Lake. Which is also our campsite for the night. Day 05: Tarsar To Sundarsar Visit to Marsar (Optional  (5km 5 Hours)This would be the most challenging and exciting day of the trek as we would cross the Tarsar pass at an altitude of 13,500 feet. We would be covering a distance of 5kms in approximately 5- 6 hours.Again we camp for the night at Tarsar Campsite.Day 06: Sundarsar To Marsar and back to Sonmasti (7.5kms 6 Hours)Today we trek up and over a seat on an edge arranged on the uttermost side of the lake. We would cover approximately 7-8 kms today in about 5-6 hours. Our camping ground for the day would be at Sonmasti which is close to Gujjar huts at the end of the valley. It is extremely beautiful location. Day 07: Sonmasti To Sumbal, Driver to SonamargOn the last day of the Tarsar Marsar Trek we would start the day early. We will climb down to Sumbal from Sonmasti and then drive to Srinagar, Aiming at reaching before it gets dark.

Itinerary
