Hi

We've booked a train due to depart Dehli Junction Station 2135.

Any suggestion for accomodation?

We're a family of four 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 16. Something similar to the 'Metropolis Tourist Home' located near New Dehli Station would be good ie a/c, clean with food available.

Alternatively we could stay at the 'Metropolis Tourist Home' and take a cab. Would this make any sense?

Cheers

hi there,

my partner and myself are planning a trip to leh in late august this year. we have being some research online about trips and itineries. a lot require a car and booking through a tour agency.
just wondering if it is easy enough to organise a tour when you arrive?
are there taxis which you can hire per day? if so - what are the approximate daily costs?

we want to do a trip to see hunder/diksit valley and may look to stay there for a night.

we would also like to visit pingong lake.

Hello everyone,

If you're in Leh, in one of the streets leading to Shanti stupa there is a music instrument shop. It's either called Harris flute shop or Harris Music shop, or something similar. I'd really appreciate it if you can pm me the email-address of the shop owner. Shanti Stupa is the big Buddhist building on the high hill looming above town. I think there are only 2 or 3 streets leading to it.

Thanks for any replies! Jop

Hello,

I plan on visiting India in the fall.

I would like to experience a festival or two (I’m thinking Diwali on Nov 7). I’m open to other suggestions if there is something under the radar that I’m unaware of.

I am also planning to do my yoga teacher training, most likely in Kerala, and I would like to visit Hampi.

Would it make the most sense to fly into Bangalore to visit Hampi? Are there any sights near Hampi or on the way to Kerala I should not miss out on? Is it worth visiting…

We intend to visit Rajasthan in September - we are experienced India travellers, but somehow, in six visits in the past 30 years, we have never got around to seeing Rajasthan!

From Mumbai we intend to get the train to Jaipur
Jaipur - 4 nights
Shekawati (stay Mandawa) - 4 nights
Bikaner - 2 or 3 nights (mainly to see Junagarh fort)
Possibly Jaiselmer (I want to visit, husband thinks it's too out of the way) - 2 or 3 nights
Jodhpur - 2 or 3 nights
back to Mumbai (husband reckons Udaipur is "too…

Dozens of residents of a northern village in Kerala are fleeing their homes (June 21, 2018) after a deadly virus killed four people and sent nine people to hospitals in the past few days. The state government of the southern state has sprung into action, setting up specialized viral labs and units in hospitals in the city of Kozhikode and urged people not to create panic.

The move comes at a time when hundreds of tourists are planning to visit the state during the monsoon for ayurvedic…

Hi guys

I will be in Kathmandu and needing to get to India as fast as I can by public transport to Chennai. I ve used both the Sunauli and the Birgunj border before but for Northern India, the latter of which took too long and was super dusty so trying to avoid that.

Do you think the Sunauli one would still be the fastest or will the Eastern border be a better option, the one near Siliguri (I believe there s only one on the East).

Thanks

Long-term trek plans for all around India then eventually Thailand and Cambodia. Open to detours and refined-yet-leisurely direction. More the merrier.
