On the south bank of the Denwa River, where jungle safaris start, this Forest Department–run rest house has six bare, but quite comfortable rooms with sit-down toilets. The canteen serves simple Indian meals. Access is by boat from the north bank. The deer and wild boar strolling through the grounds in the evening are an added bonus.
There's no air-con and no coolers, something to bear in mind in the premonsoon months, when temperatures can get into the 40s. It's best to reserve ahead by phone or email.
