Nagaland’s biggest annual jamboree, the Hornbill Festival is celebrated at the Naga Heritage Village, 10km south of Kohima. Naga tribes converge for a 10-day cultural, dance and sporting bash, much of it in full warrior costume. Of all the Northeast's festivals, this is the most spectacular and photogenic. Some events including night markets and parades take place in Kohima itself.
Kohima-based Alder Tours & Travels organises customised tours.
