This excellent budget option high above Mangan is backed by a lush fruit garden producing guavas, plums, bananas and tree-tomatoes. The host is the wife of the SDM (Subdivisional Magistrate), and so may be able to make getting permits and tours much easier than at other homestays. The eight guest rooms are pretty plain; the back ones lack exterior windows but rooms 1, 2 and 5 have bright, green valley views.
It's the sizeable brown building on a corner before the government secondary school, 1.3km up the diagonal road that starts opposite Hotel Mailling. Keep left before the football pitch. Beware of steep sections.
