From the bus station, climb 100m northwest then turn right to find this obligingly managed four-storey place. Immaculately clean rooms have sitting spaces and the relatively new versions on the two upper floors are particularly good bets, with fine new bathrooms and lovely balcony views from most.
Off-season all doubles cost a bargain ₹1000. When demand is very high, a couple of small 'homestay' rooms (₹800 with shared bathroom) are made available in the building behind.
The appealing garden restaurant offers the best food in town at simple but cleverly lit tables in a parachute-shaded garden area between apple trees and hollyhocks.
