Private, All-Inclusive Tour of Goa

After a 9am pickup at your Goa city hotel, meet your guide and travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle to reach Old Goa, also known as Velha Goa (velha means old in Portuguese). This was the original capital of the state of Goa and the second capital city established by the Portuguese in India. It was established in 1510 and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Appreciate this slice of history as your guide shows you the many churches in Old Goa.Next, visit the Mangueshi Temple, one of the largest Hindu temples in the state of Goa. It was completed in 1560 and was originally a very plain building. Over the centuries it has been renovated and expanded. Admire the current lavish temple as your guide points out key elements like the Mangesh Linga.Then continue to the Shanta Durga Temple, a large temple complex near the village of Kavalem, before touring a spice plantation in the town of Ponda. The plantation is spread over a large area where TK SPICES are grown. After receiving a traditional Aarti welcome and a garland of marigolds, tour the plantation then enjoy a buffet lunch on site including traditional Goan dishes served on a banana leaf (vegetarian options available). After lunch, visit the Portuguese Latin Quarters in the city of Panaji, including Fontainhas (or Bairro das Fontainhas, in Portuguese). Here the Portuguese influence is easy to see in the architecture, the narrow streets, and the buildings painted in lively colors. Continue to the village of Dona Paula near Panaji. Formerly called Oddavell, this village was re-named in honor of a beloved and generous benefactor. It is now home to the National Institute of Oceanography. Finally, explore Panjim City, the capital of the state of Goa, on the banks of the Mandovi River, including the Baroque Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church on the main square (known as Praça da Igreja in Portuguese), colorful villas, and cobblestone streets. Then sit back and relax for the return to Goa in your private vehicle, arriving at your hotel around 5pm.

Bird watching at Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary

The tour will begin from Ponda where we will meet at 6.30 am and then travel for about 30 min to our first birding location on the outskirts of Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary. You will spend more than an hour here followed by which you will be heading to small place outside Bondla for a typical Goan breakfast of "Bhaaji-Paav" and tea. Post breakfast you will enter into Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary and will watch birds along the road intermittently walking and driving. Total walking distance will be approximately 2 km. You can get to spot birds like White-cheeked Barbet, Vigors's Sunbird, Blyth's Starling, Grey-fronted Green Pigeon, Black-hooded Priole, Vernal Hanging Parrot, Crimson-backed Sunbird, Loten's Sunbird, Crested Treeswift, Crested Goshawk, White-rumped Shama, Malabar Trogon, Asian Fairy Bluebird, Flame-throated Bulbul, White-browed Bulbul and many more. One can easily spot over 60 species of birds during half a day's session. Birding will go on for about 4 to 5 hours beginning at 7.00 am. Maximum number of tour participants will be 4 since a small group is ideal for watching birds. A small zoo which is also part of the sanctuary can also be visited post birding. No extra amount will be charged for this. The price includes breakfast, Filtered water, entry tickets to the park and guiding fees. Travel from and to your hotel or place of stay is not included in the price, however we can assist you in booking a ride for your trip.

Heritage of Goa

Every trip starts on Friday morning at 8 am from Panjim. After visiting Taleigao cave, breakfast will be served at a local restaurant. As the day progresses, the guests get to visit Adil Shah's Palace, Panjim Church and Rue de Ourem creek surroundings to see the grid city that developed in Panjim. Lunch at another local restaurant acts as break after which we'll visit Reis Magos, Aguada, Chapora and Khorjuvem forts, Houses of Goa museum and end first day at Mayem lakeview residency. Second day will start with visit to Lamgao, Narve, Harvalem and Divar (optional) caves, post which will be Old Goa churches - Basilica of Bom Jesus, St. Francis Assisi, Se Cathedral, Chapel of St. Katherine, St. Cajetan, St. Augustines Tower, Church of Our Lady of the Mount. Post lunch, Kundai Cave, Temples of Ponda - Shantadurga, Mangueshi, Mahalasa (optional), Khandepar caves and lastly Tambdi surla temple. Stay will be at Jungle Trails Homestay at Talade, Tambdi Surla. Third day will be dedicated to most of South Goa with Rivona Caves, Ponsaimol rock carvings, Jaki Cave, Vichundrem temple ruins before having lunch at Tanshikar spice farm. Post lunch visit Chandor temple ruins, old Portuguese houses, Goa chitra museum and Aquem cave. Guests will be dropped back to Panjim.

Dudhsagar Falls and Spice Plantation Full-Day Private Tour

Meet your guide at the lobby of your hotel in Goa at 7am, then head to Dudhsagar Waterfalls, located on the border of Karnataka and Goa states. The cascading waters appear white like milk, giving the waterfalls their name, Doodh being the Hindi word for milk. The roads are opened in the month of October. At the base of the waterfall, there is a very cold and slippery pond, complete with fish. Once at the base of Dudhsagar waterfall, you'll board the four-wheel drive vehicles on a sharing basis for a 1-hour fun drive through rivers, springs and rocky roads which ultimately bring you below the waterfall. At approximately 12pm, you will visit a spice plantation, where you will have lunch. The plantation is located in Ponda, a village untouched by pollution, and spread over large tracts of verdant land, offering the perfect setting for you to soak in pure unadulterated nature. At the spice plantation, guests are welcomed in a traditional way by the offering of Aarti, Kumkum, and a garland of flowers, then served herbal tea. Healthy and nutritious food is served in a traditional manner on a banana leaf. Feast on authentic Goan cuisines as you help yourself to generous servings of vegetable and non-vegetable delicacies. Add some Italian delights as well to your plate. High on nutrition and steeped in tradition, just the way you’d expect in the lap of nature.You guide will take you on a refreshing walk around the plantation, regaling you with information on various spices and their medicinal values. You can see black pepper cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, chilies and coriander, all growing at the spice plantation. You will also be introduced to the famous Allspice plant, which has the aroma and taste of five spices. Around the plantation you will see Goa's tropical trees like the Cashew, Areca nut (Betel nut), palm trees and tropical fruit trees like Star fruit, Jack Fruit, Custard Apple, Bananas, Papayas and Pineapple. You can also see at least four different citrus fruits growing there. The plantation also has a few coffee plants, which are a rare sight in Goa.At the end of this journey, approximately 2:30pm, you'll sit back and relax on the drive back to your hotel in Goa.
