I was going to do the aforementioned trip but realize that quite a few other people have the same idea . As I do not enjoy being in mass tourist packs , even though with the freedom a bike gives , i am looking for any other ideas for a similar trip . Id have to rent the bike in Manali or perhaps there are other places to get ones hands on an Enfield near the Himalayas ? Thanks for any ideas . In SL of now and theres more tourists here than locals .
I am a Brit currently travelling in India on a 60 day evisa.
My current evisa lasts for another 40 days but I am planning to head to Nepal and then to apply for a new 60 day evisa to travel around India for another two months afterwards. This seems the better option rather than spending seven days in Kathmandu applying for an expensive new Indian visa.
To fulfill the evisa requirements I will fly from Kathmandu to one of the designated evisa ports when re-entering India (likely Ahmedabad).
Am wanting to stay near the airport before flying for 24 hours and would like to stay in a cheap guest house in Vasco. My question is can I get 24 hour check out duration like in most places in South India? So that I could arrive in the evening and check out next evening for my night flight? Would be very convenient.
I am going to Havelock island on May for 3,5 days.
I read a lot about Radhanagar beach that this is the most beautiful beach on the island but it's quite far from the city center. So, I am wonder what will be better idea:
- staying for the night (3) near Radhanagar beach and at the afternoon going my motorbike to the city for eat something/spend some time
- staying for the nigh (3) closer to the city center and every day comming (3 times) from the city to Radhanagar beach for relax
I would like…
sorry if I create a new thread but haven't found a precise answer to my question, and it's flight booking time... so I'm in a bit of a rush.
I have a company helping me with getting LOI for Pakistan to start my trip in Lahore, and yet flights are much cheaper if I land in India (I live in Malaysia), even including an Indian e-visa costs. So, I'd like to buy tickets to India, go to Pakistan, return to India, stay for a few days within the original 60, and fly back home.
I have read…
Hoping someone might know about this - I recently chatted with a fellow traveller who had mentioned he'd used a Gurudwara in Gwalior for accommodation. Great I said, as I'd noticed there's only one budget-ish accommodation in the latest LP.
Now that I'm looking for this in Google maps, I'm not sure which it would be - I thought it was more likely either the one at Phoolbagh or Noorganj rather than the one in the fort itself - had anyone got experience of staying at one of these?!
Thanks in advance…
Sorry this is a partial copy of a reply to the recent thread about sim cards for India, but I had come on to post about Airtel and the other post's replies confidently included a similar issue.
After purchase a PAYG sim in January, and making irregular calls and texts - no data used at all - service dropped a couple of weeks ago. I was told in an Airtel store that the number had been deleted, and I'd been getting a series of text messages with different details of the same issue of needing to…
we would like to travel through the Dah - Hanu Valley this year coming from the Kargil side. Do you know if the ILP can be obtained in Kargil or is it only available in Leh?
