Experience Jaipur, the capital of India’s Rajasthan state on this full day trip from Delhi. With a private guide, sit back and relax during your comfortable car ride to the “Pink City”. Enjoy an included lunch and visit several attractions such as Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Jal Mahal.
Begin your day trip with early morning pickup from your Delhi hotel or the Delhi airport. Jaipur, at approximately 186.41 miles (300 kilometers) from Delhi, is about a 6-hour drive. Stop for breakfast along the way at the Rajasthan tourism restaurant called Midway before arriving at Amber Fort, which is located on the Delhi-Jaipur highway and just outside Jaipur. Situated on a hilltop, the Amber Fort has been featured in many Bollywood movies. Moving on, you will visit Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. Centuries ago, it is here that royal ladies would watch street life from above. Next, enjoy a lunch break before heading to the City Palace and Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory. The City Palace is an impressive structure that continues to serve as the maharaja’s residence. In addition, Jantar Mantar is a stunning creation of Sawai Jai Singh II, which is the king that built Jaipur. Its huge instruments are very accurate and when tested in recent times have shown minimal error. On the return trip visit Jal Mahal, a minor palace built in the center of a shallow lake. An optional stop for dinner can be made at either the Midway restaurant or any of the roadside eateries along the way. Your day trip will conclude at approximately 10pm.
