A walk to uncover the secrets and history of Ulsoor through the times!
MansoorHi, I'm Mansoor and I have lived in Bangalore all my life and have been conducting architectural, heritage and cultural walks across town for the past six years. Join me on this heritage trail as I take you through the streets of Ulsoor. I am an architect by profession but my love for the city has created an innate passion for its cultural roots.
DetailsWe'll go on a journey across Ulsoor or Halasuru or 'Jackfruit village' listening to stories and anecdotes from the times of the Cholas, Kempe Gowda and finally the British. This area is famous for the Ulsoor lake and the majestic Someshwara temple, but hidden away along its narrow lanes and streets are heritage spots which are waiting to tell us their tales. Learn how this part of town got its famous churches, gurudwaras, temples, ashrams, markets, etc. Ulsoor has even got its own local festival called the annual 'Poo Palakki'. As we walk through the bazaar we'll gaze at some heritage houses from a bygone era. The walk ends with some nice South Indian breakfast & beverages at a restaurant near the gurudwara.
Tip: Wear comfortable walking shoes and stay hydrated.
