Welcome to Badrinath & Mana Village

A scenic 3km walk beyond Badrinath along the Alaknanda River (cross over to the temple side to pick up the path), past fields divided by dry-stone walls, leads to tiny but charismatic Mana Village; you can also take a taxi there for ₹250. The village is crammed with stone laneways and traditional houses, some with slate walls and roofs while others are wooden with cute balconies. You can wander around and watch the villagers at work and play. They migrate to somewhere warmer and less remote – usually Joshimath – between November and April.
