Getting around by air

At the time of writing, interisland sea planes were not operating and it was unlikely they would resume.

While the interisland helicopter service is generally reserved for islanders and VIPs, you can chance your luck by applying one day before at the Directorate of Civil Aviation office at the helipad by the airport. However, the 5kg baggage limit and soaring price tag (for example ₹19,000 from Port Blair to Diglipur) precludes most tourists from using this service.
