Free wi-fi is widely available at Amritsar's hotels, and in Café Coffee Day near the Golden Temple. Internet cafes are a thing of the past, although one former internet cafe near the Golden Temple still opens its doors for wi-fi use.
Amritsar has an ever-mushrooming supply of ATMs, including many around the Golden Temple and ones at the airport, the train station and the main bus station. Mannat Travels is a trustworthy moneychanger in the old city.
Close to the Partition Museum, HDFC and ICICI deal in foreign exchange and have 24-hour ATMs that accept foreign cards.
At the junction of Court Rd with Albert Rd is the main post office, with fast post and parcel facilities. There is also a handy post office near the Golden Temple with similar facilities.
By the second entrance to the train station is a tourist office with brochures and free maps covering Punjab, including detailed street maps of Amritsar, Patiala, Bathinda, Anandpur Sahib and Kapurthala.
