Set in beautifully restored 18th century cabin, the local tourist office offers advice on hiking and biking trails, maps, brochures and handicrafts.
In the witchcraft museum, with internet access and lots of info, including hiking maps (1500kr). Staff can book activities.
If entering Hornstrandir Nature Reserve between September and 15 June it is mandatory to register with a ranger.
Internet access is available in the fine library and cultural centre, once the town’s hospital.
Ísafjörður has a full-service hospital, which also operates clinics around the Westfjords.
