Welcome to The Highlands

The highlands are home to Iceland's King and Queen of the Mountains, and the only sign of life you'll see (besides other homo sapiens) is an occasional delicate moss or flower, or the vibrant ripple of bright green where vegetation grows along a hot river. The isolation and the humbling scale of the natural world in its rawest form are the reason people visit. The solitude is exhilarating, the views unending. But there are practically no services, accommodation, bridges over rivers – or guarantees if something goes wrong. Be prepared with logistics and your spirit of adventure.

Ice Cave - Adventures Dream - Less crowded - for photographing

The tour can take 4 to 6 hours depending on location and weather. We will start by driving for about 35-45 minutes to the location where we will start the walk towards the glacier. Walk in the wild surroundings where the glacier has formed the nature will take about 40-60 minutes. We will enjoy the area that is considered to be a locals special. Here the locals come in the summer to enjoy the nature of there friends and family. After the walk, we will be able to spend a good time in the Ice cave and get the photos that we need. On this tour, we are not in a hurry and try to spend as much time as the group needs. When everyone has had enough time in the Ice cave we will walk the same way back. We might need to walk on the glacier to get to the Ice Cave. If we need to walk on the glacier we will provide all the equipment for that. If you like photographing we recommend this tour for you.All the ice caves are naturally made so it is the nature that decides how they are shaped and where they are located. Safety is our priority, and/so we will always choose the best Ice cave for every trip. The drive and the walk to the ice cave can, therefore, be different between days. If nature decides we are not able to go to the ice cave we have other extraordinary alternatives for you.

Dettifoss Waterfall Tour from Lake Myvatn

We drive towards Dettifoss Waterfall, going of the main road. When arriving at Jökulsá á Fjöllum glacier river,  where a mass of water, mud and sand rumbles into Iceland’s most impressive canyon from Vatnajökull Glacier.  Dettifoss is the most powerful waterfall in Europe, 100m wide and with fall of 44m. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the best viewpoints of the waterfall, and adjacent waterfalls of Hafragilsfoss and Selfoss. If the ground is covered in snow (which it is usually in winter), we use snowshoes to make the hike easier. After we've experienced the greatness of the Icelandic Waterfalls, we head back to the Lake Mývatn area.
