Don't forget to visit Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park on your visit to Iceland. This South Iceland park tends to be overlooked since you have to hike to the famous Svartifoss of " Black Falls" waterfall and an easy walk takes you out to view Skaftafellsjökull, also known as the glacier tongue to the larger glacier Vatnajökull .

Less crowded because you can't just step out of you car to view these beauties but if you take on the easy hikes you'll see aspects of Iceland you'll never…

HI Guys!
I'm working on booking hotels and building an itinerary for our 7-day Iceland Trip (both North and South) Can anybody give advice on their initial thoughts.

  • Are there better places that you would suggest spending the night?
  • Are the must-see attractions that are DO NOT MISS.
  • I'm staying 2 extra days after we return to Reyjavik and will actually be leaving with a friend on Day 10. Any suggestions for after my friends leave?
Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

1st day…

Hello!
We are a couple travelling to Iceland with the dates 2nd to 16th October 2018.

I am sharing a detailed itinerary here. Would love to know if this is workable, doable in the days mentioned, anything that has been missed etc. We are planning on getting a 2WD as we are not venturing out on F Roads. We are also adding the Sand and Ash insurance (probably going to go with Blue Car Rental) because there are a fair amount of gravel roads in this list.

Day 1: Mumbai (India) to Reykjavik
Land in…

Hello All,
We are planning a week of travel in July around Iceland and looking to rent a camper van. There are a lot of choices out there but we would like to hear about other travelers' experiences. We also would to know what insurance is absolutely necessary.
Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks .

Hello,

We plan to hike from Thorsmork to Skôgar at the end of June in one day and then (potentially) return to Reykiavik in the evening.

What are our options to get from Skôgar to Reykiavik after doing such hike? Is there a chance for a public or private bus after 6PM from Skôgar to Reykiavik.

Thanks
Pawel

My partner and I spontaneously booked a flight for next month and are trying to hammer out a 13-day itinerary. Since our trip is so soon there aren't so many lodging options, especially in the southeast, so we figured we'd focus on the west and north.

Usually I'm a pretty meticulous planner, who packs things in and does everything on a budget. However, this has been a stressful year and I want a vacation that is restful and full of rejuvenating nature! I don't need to see everything and I…

Does anyone know if you can set up a tent halfway the Fimmvörðuháls hike? We want to split the hike from Thorsmork to Skogar in two days. Or at least want to know if that is possible. You do have the Fimmvörðuháls hut, but the ground next to the hut looks unsuitable for setting up a tent?
