On this 3-day short break tour you combine history and nature for a vacation that you won't forget. Take in the famous sights of the Golden Circle, walk on a glacier and experience all the fantastic natural phenomena that the south has to offer, like the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and the Black Sand Beach, Reynisfjara.
With an early morning pick up from your driver guide, you will be on your way, in a comfortable mini-van, to the famous Golden Circle sights. We start with Þingvellir National Park, where you will walk through the fault lines between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. You will also learn about the historic events that took place in this UNESCO world heritage site. After driving a bit further you will witness the eruptions of Strokkur at the Geysir hot spring area and visit the powerful waterfall Gullfoss. Then the course will be taken towards the South Coast where you can enjoy the scenery until you reach your hotel accommodation near Kirkjubæjarklaustur. On day 2, your guide will be taking you further East where you get to admire the floating icebergs of the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and the black Diamond Beach. Next, you will head to Skaftafell where you will take part in a exciting glacier walk on one of the many outlet glaciers in the region. You will also be able to take a short hike to marvel at the beautiful Svartifoss waterfall before heading back to your hotel. On the last day, you head back toward Reykjavík, but you will have plenty of time to visit all the wonderful sights along the South Coast. You get to visit the charming little town Vík, walk on Reynisfjara black sand beach and enjoy the majestic waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, before arriving in the city in the late afternoon.
