In an industrial estate toward Njarðvík, on busy Rte 41, this hostel has dated decor and feels rough around the edges. It's not always clean, and is not for everyone, but it’s the cheapest option near the airport. Guests get use of a kitchen and TV lounge. Buses to Reykjavík and Keflavík pass in front, but a car would be helpful if staying here.

The hostel/guesthouse offers sleeping bag and made up beds accommodation in 29 rooms. The rooms are without bathrooms but they are available on all floors.
Both houses offer cooking facilities, living rooms, TVs, showers, internet access, washing facilities and a hot tub.

The area of Reykjanesbaer has many recreational options for people of all ages.
Hiking around the area is a good way to enjoy the nature as well as finding more about Icelandic culture on many historical sites.
Here in Reykanes we have two outdoor swimming pools with warm water, the famous Blue Lagoon, excellent area at Garskagi for birdwathing, hot springs, bridge across continents, two companies that offer whale watching and sea angling. Golf course, go-kart and museums.
The three towns of Njardvik, Keflavik and Hafnir were joined together in the municipality of Reykjanesbaer in the year 1994. These towns were built up around the fish industry but today has mostly been replaced by tourist related and service jobs.
Iceland is forming on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (since volcanoes in Iceland are still active).
Landscape in the area of Reykjanes Peninsula is distinguishable by volcanic activity in the forms of mountains maid of palagonite that were formed under ice or water and many layers of lava.
